Itchy Boots

It does rather sum up the state of the UK. Come to England! Wales! Scotland! Northern Ireland! and have your bike nicked.

There was a similar instance in late 2019 when Geordie Stewart returned home from having cycled around the world, covering 22 or 23 thousand miles in every kind of country and culture. When he arrived back in Hammersmith in London, someone stole his bike from right outside the pub.

Looks like she posted her Islamabad vid the day before it got flash flooded. Waiting for the next update!

Had a chuckle at her "dense fog today" comment as she was leaving Lahore.

This is Lahore.....

Over 300 death from the flood in the area, and not a word about it.

Maybe she was ahead of it by the time she edited the episode.

Makes you wonder how much in tune she is with realities around her.

But between riding and editing, she may not have much time for keeping up......

I've always found her to be very much aware.
Absolutely true. And she intentionally times her posts and videos to avoid throngs of fans, well-wishers, papparazzi and autograph hounds. Except for promotions, and a select few events such as ADR.
In addition to the post-processing time required and assembling her videos, this is another method of self-protection.
So yes, she has years / decades of global travel experience under her proverbial belt, as well as numerous resources and fellow RTW traveling friends to lean on when necessary.
If you've followed her for several seasons, to date the only thing of any consequence that she was caught unaware, was the fluid border closings and quarantine resulting from covid when she was trapped for a short while in Peru.
Even then, she knew to quickly get the Dutch embassy engaged to assist her in getting home.
I'd say she does pretty darn well.

I think she is very courageous to visit Afghanistan as a statement of support for the women who live under the Taliban regime. I think she has enough experience to know how to handle the members of the Taliban regime.

I am also certain that she has already left that country now that the e-mail she sent and the first video has gone live.

Hope she is safe now. I don't understand that risk she took, there should be other way to head to Japan

I'm not so sure. "Courageous" or stupid? And a "statement of support" might work in Seattle, but in Afghanistan or other places in Middle East Arab countries only means she's lucky she wasn't gang raped and left for dead. As for "handling" the Taliban? Yeah...with an AK-47.

But if she stayed with riding through Scandinavia, it wouldn't get as many clicks.
