Mellow's August MNSTOC Trip

Nice pics Joe.
Thanks for surprising us with your visit.

Nicely done Joe!! You should have taken that ole raccoon hunter along with you!! He would not have slowed you down to much!! :D

Some really great pictures. Can't wait to get on the road. I need to figure out how to pack 2 up with camping gear on an ST.

Good trip, great camera. what is the camera?

Your trip seemed a bit like Mr Padden and myself's trip. A good long quick ride with lots of sights seen. You should have let me know you were stopping in Roswell I would have bought you a meal (altough I haven't found the "good place" yet).

Great pictures Joe. Enjoyed your report as you rode some of the roads I was on but in the other direction. Coronado Trail (191 in Eastern Arizona) is definately one of my favorite rides now! The copper mine in Clifton is an amazing site to either start or end that ride.

I thought I rode rode a lot in my 16 day at 409 miles / day but you had me beat. :D for you.

Really Easy,
Get Mellows old trailer and yard it behind you.

It needs a bath once in a while, taken in Idaho Falls . Some of the roads from Edmonton to Vegas still had snow on them in May.
Other pic was at the Montana/Alberta border crossing.

Looks like a great ride. I'm going west next year. I'm tired of traveling east. My family will have to come west if they want to see me. So much I want to see out west.

Olympus Tough TG-2
I was on but in the other direction.
I adjusted my route when I saw you on that lower AZ/NM part via your spot.. thanks!
How good is a plastic painter's "drop cloth" to put under the tent?
The purpose is to protect the tent, I would go with a cheapo poly tarp from walmart as it's probably tougher, but also noisier..

Awesome trip/pictures Mellow, I'm glad you made stop by over MnSTOC. Also fun day to have you along for day trip (Tri state areas) on southern MN, northern Iowa and mostly Wisconsin's twisties. But, you missing out great picture of me watering wild flowers along the road and Bob Harvesting beans/corns though :D

Some things are better kept secret. LOL

Great write up of a great trip! Some of those sites I've seen, some yet to be seen by me. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the ride Joe. For those of you that have never traveled with Joe, he doesn't know how to pitch his tent in the daylight or break camp in the light. Up before the sun and down after the sunsets!!!

LOL.. looks who's talking, you're typically 100 miles away after 2 cups of coffee before I even unzip my tent..

You guys are something. As a relative newbie, getting ready to attend his very first *STOC (WiSTOC), I'm not so sure I can keep up with your riding styles. I hope to some day ...
