scratched a little my poor ST.

I hope you are okay and can get the "scratches" buffed out.

I can't speak for the other tires you mention, and my Metzler experience is a little old, but the ME33s I used to run on my 1990 VFR were fabulous in the wet.

Perhaps the 880 is just not the right Metzler for you.

I will say the Michelin Road 5s I had on my other bike were also fabulous in most weather too.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your bike. I'm amazed at your talent of putting it all back together. It's worth it.

I used to have Metzler ME880's on my '91 ST1100 in Florida and they seemed to stick like glue and wear like iron. Plenty of riding in rain. Of course, Florida is generally hot. That was then and this is now, though, so I have no idea if the ME880 is still around or if it's built the same way.

The tires that came with my 2001 ST1100 are Bridgestone BATTLAX T32's and I've really put them to the test. I can't find a negative thing to say about them.
