Smaller air pump?

If you take the cover off the Slime pump, don't you have figure out a way (usually a tie wrap) to hang it so the cooling 'fan' blades don't bite you or the ground? Or am I remembering the wrong pump?
There is no cooling fan but there is a toothed gear that bites fingers but it's easy to fabricate a gear guard or cover. Pictures in post #8 and #17.

CO2 cartridges are another option, but you only get one 'go' (and you'd need a few to get an ST tyre up to pressure! Might get you to the next fuel station though) I'm happy with a naked 12V pump like above, and just hold it with gloves if I ever need to use it!

Anybody ever uses a hand pump?
Always good to have a hand pump as a backup and/or C02 cartridges. Check your electric pump before each riding season by trying to fill a tire. I discovered the hard way that the rubber around the chuck had deteriorated and wasn’t air tight.

And check that the tube of glue for the gummy worms has not been opened and/or is dried up. Slime sells just the glue tube with a handful of rubber patches.

I got this the other day.
Portable Air Compressor Tire Inflator: 12V DC Auto Tire Pump Car Tire Inflator with Digital Pressure Gauge, Fast Inflation, Auto Tire Pump for Car Tires,Motorcycles https://a.co/d/49dYWeV
I tested this compressor today. A bit awkward fitting to an OEM St 1300 rear wheel valve stem, yet doable.
0 to 42 PSI in 4 min’ 25 sec’.

Fits nicely in L/H fairing pocket.

For what it's worth: I have a couple of Slime compressors in my motorcycle gear. I also have those Harbor Freight $9 compressors in my cars and trucks. You know the ones that look like miniature tank compressors. One day because I got curious, I let tha air out of the two front tires of my Isuzu Trooper. I stuck my newest Slime on one and a HF compressor on the other. They were plugged into two separate cars. They each have built in pressure gauges.
"On your Marks, Get set _ ... Essentially a tie to 40 PSI.
_ I'm happy to say that my pumps don't get a lot of use. I have more confidence in the Slime unit. I just have no idea why;).
