Well, not one of my ST1100s, but me again. I was hoping to make it through 2018 without any 'repair shop' time after my medical adventures in 2016 and 2017. Tomorrow (Friday) I go in for outpatient surgery to rework the joint right below the thumb on the right hand. Arthritis has made both hands less than functional and I'm especially struggling with working the throttle and front brake. They do a little grinding and grab part of a tendon and install it between the bones. I had a similar operation in the same areas in 2003 which fixed the bottom side of the joint. Now it's the top side that's worn out. And I get to do it all over again for the left hand when the right gets functional. I'm just glad they still make repairs on these old models or I would be out of luck!
The thing that bothers me the most is I don't know if I'll be awake, out of surgery and functional enough to make it to the Celebration of Life for Kreis that evening. It's a 3 hour drive and a 1 hour time loss and I don't have my surgery time yet. Kreis is a dear friend for a long time and I sure am hoping to be there for that special evening.
