My 3k tires were T31GTs and the older BT23? I think? I got almost 4k out of the 23s but they wore funny and didn't perform nearly as well as the 31s.
I'm currently on Dunlop Road smart 3s and with 1500 miles on them, they still look great. I have also slowed down considerably in the last few years, and ride almost 100% twisty two lane roads. The RS3s do feel harder than the T31s though, those tires felt like supersport tires to me.
My NT700VA has over 3k miles on cheapy Malaysian Continentals and they still look great, I anticipate 8-10k miles. But that's a much lighter bike that has maybe 50hp.
YMMV. I admit I push pretty hard on twisty roads, or at least used to. I've really tried to slow down the last couple of years though.
