Passing the Torch

While I've spent over a decade, helping folks maintain and service their ST1300's, time marches on, and my poor old body is having trouble keeping up
So, while I'll still be available on the White Courtesy Phone, and available to work on a few ST's that find their way into my garage, I'm starting to cut back a little bit on the numbers of bikes I have in my garage at any one time.
I've had the pleasure to assist local riders, long distance riders, iron butt riders, escort riders, patriot riders, forum members, and various departments over the years, and have made a lot of good friends.
I've trained many people, from riders to master mechanics, on how to service these bikes.
I have fond memories, and no regrets...
However, It may be time to pass the torch on to the next ST Whisperer.....
Since I've been helping folks on the West coast for so many years, I've decided to help folks on the East coast as well.
I can think of none better than our very own Aniwack (John) for service stuff on the East coast.
John has always gone the extra mile to assist folks, and has always stepped up to the plate when a rider needs help.
He has helped me swap engines, and knows his way around all the service stuff to keep ST's running in tip top shape.
Besides, he has me on speed dial :rofl1:
I've put together a couple care packages, and shipped them to him to keep his service stuff running smoothly.
I sourced a few more parts and they are sitting in storage waiting for him to come pick them up.
So if anyone needs help or service stuff done near Georgia, please reach out and call John, but do understand, that he does have a day job, and he's not retired like I am.
Now he has to figure out where he's going to keep a spare engine, driveshafts, rear ends, mufflers, exhaust systems, O2 sensors, map sensors, Injectors, Air box assemblies, a spare frame, fuel tanks, lower tanks, shields, wire harnesses, brake calipers, SMC's, brake lines, PCV's, ABS units, ECU's, coils, suspension parts, and more new old stock than most Honda shops keep in stock.
Good luck with that John :rofl1:

Truly you are legendary in ST1300-ville. A status difficult to come by and well earned.

Let's hope John can live up to the stratospheric standards you have set to keep these old battlewagons running.

Thanks

Larry, you are truly a gentleman for sharing your knowledge and service to those of us in the ST world. After my visits with you and reading your posts here, I should be able to keep my steed in reasonable shape, as can many others. Take care and get healthy.

The first time I needed help with my ST you answered immediately. I was astonished and still I am, that anybody could give that kind of support graciously.
A privilege that you gave to many people.
I couldn't expect a better way to improve and learn, you provided expertise and kindness.
Thank you Larry and I mean it!

Thank you Larry for all you done for us. I've certainly benefitted from you generosity and knowledge. THANK YOU.

Also glad to hear the WCP remains operational and I hope to find the welcome mat out for at least a cuppa joe and a good fat chewing when I make good on finding myself you way on two wheels.

Couldn't have said it better than Savago; I'm sure everyone like myself [three years reviewing many of your posts and articles] on the site has enjoyed the benefit of your work, experience and expertise on these motorcycles.

I can attest to Larry's hoard of parts.

I was just at his house last night to pick up that 05 that he had advertised earlier, and he showed me his stash!

My trailer could only hold what I had brought for the trip and the 05, or I would have talked him out of a few things! ;)

It was GREAT to finally meet you, after ALL of these years!
And thanks for letting me in on this ST1300. :oilleak: I think!

Ok…. The real reason is my wife made me clean out the garage :rofl1:
And of course I’m making room for a newer, smaller, lighter bike if I heal up enough.
But I will let Mrs Igofar think she made me clean out the garage for now.

I really understand scaling back a bit, I still struggle with the idea that I am going to do projects when I have more time.
But I digress, I am sure you will not be able to control your self from giving your very valuable advice online.
P.S. My wife is on me to clean my garage too, unfortunately every time my hand goes overt the round file with something in it, it seizes up and refuses to release and let it drop.
A very hearty thank you to the Misses for supporting us all by supporting you.

From Post #1, yeah, sure. Unless Mrs. Igofar is the one answering the White Courtesy Phone I'm not sure Larry has it in him to respond . . . "No, I can't work on your bike try me later in the year!" (And, maybe even if she is answer the phone, Larry will find a way . . . sneaky man that he is!) ;)

Then again, maybe in cutting back he'll have time to learn how to finally play that guitar he keeps hanging around or practice his magic tricks on anyone who walks by the front of his house. If so, I'm guessing that in short order there will be fewer neighbors walking in his neighborhood. o_O:rofl1:

Larry, I can't thank you enough for all the help you've given me and for so much of what I've learned by reading your posts here. Heal up quick!

Nope....what you saw Bob, was just the care package put together for John.
All those black and yellow storage boxes along the wall are filled with ST parts :rofl1:
You should have said something, I would have filled up your truck as well.

We’re all grateful for the many you have helped here- take care of yourself now- hopefully, you’re not in too much discomfort these days. Do you suspect you’ll ride again (even if on 3 wheels)?
