Todays Ride. August 8, 2026
Just a short ride this morning to try and get a little more accustomed to the “Triked” Goldwing.
It was charted (planned) to be about an hour and a half and around 70 miles. Of course, BaseCamp, when you select “Motorcycle” as the vechicle goes out of it way to take “rural” roads. But, excepting that, the trip was not bad.
I had no issues with the steering (finally getting use to the “Trike” steering). But, the ride seemed very rough. This was especially true of the rural SC roads. It seems that these roads (besides not being well maintain) were not well laid. On many of these roads, the center of the lane I traveled was very bumpy. I had checked and adjusted the tire pressure on the Trike for standard pressure on the front tire and 22 PSI on the two rear tires. When you ride down the center of the road, the Tirke’s front wheel is constantly being pushed around by the uneven road surface in the center. I don’t know of a way to make this better with the Trike.
Ok, today’s ride was about 63 miles and it took about 90 minutes. No issues (except as noted above).

The videos below have been uploaded to RUMBLE. They were taken with my GoPro 12 Black video camera. They are recorded at 4K resolution but you have to manually select that resolution using the “Gear” icon at the bottom of the RUMBLE video screen. Oh and the GoPro does a great job on image stability.

On the way home we popped via Uxbridge, a suburb of Outer London (about 5 miles from the cafe).... I met Chief of Staff there in 1975 whilst we were both serving at Royal Air Force Uxbridge, an administrative base.... thought we'd go and have a quick reminisce.... it's now a housing estate 
Thankfully, some RAF history remains with the Battle of Britain Bunker Museum
