Where did you ride today?

Where did I ride today? Wanted to do some cleaning on the FJR, so I rode it up onto my bike table lift and then over onto the floor. Very short expensive ride. Flayed the skin on my left elbow. The blood color matches the bike color.

OUCH!

Another day, another 28 miles. My wife has a cold and wasn't feeling well. Needed to go get some meds. NyQuil and cough drops and pull-apart Twizzlers. All needed for her cold. OK, the Twizzlers are also for her trip to Florida next week. She takes off to the sunshine state every February for a week or so... And then I take off for STOC camping events through the summer. I just HAD to go to the Walmart a few towns north of us to get that stuff.

Temps stayed around 31*F. I had my cheap battery heated gloves set to low for this ride and that was plenty warm. So far they've been on for 2.5 hours and still showing full charge. I left them turned on sitting on my desk just to see how long they'll run on low. The manual says they should run for 5.5 hrs to 7 hrs. I'm thinking it will be the latter.

edit: 6 hours later the heated gloves batteries still show approximately 60% (still 3 out of 4 power lights for the last 3 hrs)... definitely more than 50%. That tells me that if temps were around 30*F the gloves would keep my hands warm throughout an all day ride.
edit2: 7hrs and 10 mins the power level is still at 50%. Outstanding to me for a $30 (cheap) pair of battery heated gloves.

Drove over to the Oakland White Elephant Sale. Took the bike, the Brute, so I could get a good parking place up front. My wife drove her car, Scooby, and found a parking place only a block away.

Everything at the sale is donated and organized properly. Proceeds go towards the Oakland Museum. We’ve been donating and going for the past ten years,

Rode 20 miles looking for bumps after replacing crappy stock shocks on the Street Glide. First photo is left, old vs new, showing how little travel there was. Think broken molars & back injury. 2nd photo is right, with a very different spring than left. Made bumpy corners a bit exciting. HD should really be ashamed of itself. Btw - fairly cold here at 39.2F but not cold enough for the coldest ride thread.

Today they said partly sunny. Temps were close to 50*F. Started out the ride around 52*F. It went up to 55*F right away and stayed there until I returned home and then it went back to 52*F.
Rode 62 miles today. Grabbed a photo that showed why they thought it was "partly sunny"... I guess due to all the con-trails. This picture shows some of them. There were more above and behind me. Was looking crowded up in the sky today. Heated gloves not needed today but I didn't feel like removing the bar muffs.

School bus duty today for the Granddaughters. Rode the bike to their house ending up with just over 52 miles today. Took a little longer route coming home. Also going there... a few more miles but less time. That route going there took me across the mile long lake bridge. I figure I'd try that today since temps were in the low 40s all the way around.

My turn!
Tried to stay away from my wife... as I usually do (she doesn't like me being too close). But it didn't work. Feeling the achy joints, sore throat, and a headache trying to develop. No ride today. Just when the weather is getting better and better. Monday is now expected to be up to 62*F. I may end up missing that.
