Where did you ride today?

Finished up the 65k mile maint. on the FJR so I needed to test ride it. The temps have been in the 90's for the last few day. Today the high was going to be in the mid 70's. perfect temperature to ride. Sky was blue with no clouds at all. Sun was bright. No wind to speak of. Time to GO RIDE. Again I chose to ride up to Echo Lake at the base of Mt. Blue Sky (Mt Evans). One of my favorite rides, as it has a bunch of twist and turns and great scenery. 125 mile round trip. Left the house at 07:30 and was back by 11:00. Once across Denver the fun begins. It was a quick up and back.

I didn't get gas, but will do that tomorrow. Today I went to church to lead my Life Group. Spoke with some guys who are "graduating" from the Young Adults group as they hit 30 and telling them about our group in case they find it appealing. Got to ride home after 2200 hrs and just enjoy the nice balmy (by PNW standards) evening.

Tomorrow is time to fill up with gas in prep for a trip on Saturday from west of the Cascades across the North Cascades Hwy, south to Wenatchee and back across the Cascades on US2. We call it the "Longest Day Ride". Good roads. Fantastic scenery and great friends.

Went on the "Longest Day Ride" with some friends. Here's the rough route. Met up at Denny's in Arlington for breakfast. Had lunch at Marsala's in Wenatchee. Should've taken pics of the food, but just enjoyed the conversations with old friends.

Crossed over Gorge Lake.

On the North Cascades Highway, you're not looking at mountains in the far off distance, you're in the mountains.

Took a short 80 mile ride up through saltville. Took a right turn to chilhowie and konnarock. The overlook at skulls gap was closed and not sure why but got a couple of pics off the saltville overlook. Saltville is known as the salt capital of the confederacy.

Took a short 340 mile ride today. Rode up to the summit of Cottonwood Pass. (12,126 ft) West side of Pass is closed this year for paving, but the paved East side is open. Took a few pictures of the over look. Sure was pretty up there this morning. Headed down and went and got the ST-Owners Colorado Tag at Wilkerson Pass (9502 ft) on Highway 24 then on down to Lake George and crossed over on Highway 77 Terryall Rd. back to 285 and then home. Did not take too many pictures. Oh' I forgot to tell you this ride was 9 years ago today.
