Where did you ride today?

Dammit Dave, you should’ve given me a call when you were in my neck of the woods. I live about 50 miles from where Tennessee meets North Carolina at the Georgia border.
I rode into the north GA mountains briefly on Friday, 1-4 pm. But I got caught in the rain and headed home by 3 PM.

Another really nice sunny day. Temps around the mid 60s*F. Rode another 68 miles today.

I was expecting to need gas on this ride but wasn't certain how far I'd get before I would need to stop. I know that when the last bar starts flashing I have a little more than 40 miles at least. Turned out for this tank I had a little over 50 miles to dry. Only needed just under 20 miles of that to the gas station I prefer to fill up at. 53+ mpg on this tank. Put 3.07 gals into my 3.7 gal tank which meant I had 33 more miles to go.

Just back from a few days in the area where GA, SC, NC, and TN are knitted together with most excellent roads.
I see nobody's RE-started a "riding games" thread for the state of North Carolina, since the great computer crash of 2025.
So tomorrow I'm going with a current ST-1300 owner (and me on my Honda Shadow) to ride into that state,
start off the Alphabetical riding challenge with "Andrews." Get a picture of "Big Blue" that giant custom motorcycle
at that bike shop just outside of Andrews, and the "Big Blue" pic will be how I start the "TAG" game for NC.

took a buddy on one of my favorite rides out of Martinez yesterday. North up to Turtle Rock bar and grill. Luckly it was sunday and Bisquits and gravy on the menu, buddy had a Polish dog. Then more north through Pope Valley and up to Middleton. Up and over to Cobb Mtn, bottle Rock road for a loop around Clear Lake back to 29 south, up and over Mt helena to feast at Busters Bar-B-Que on the south end of Calistoga. Boring ride home on the Silverado Trail. Great day to ride

Tonight was the American Legion Riders meeting. Last week was the regular American Legion meeting. Rode there and back... both ways across the mile long bridge over the lake. Was daylight still going across going there but dark coming back. Kinda spooky riding across in the dark. Took a longer route coming home. Ended up with 44 miles tonight and another 20+ miles this afternoon for some errands.

Almost took the handlebar muffs off but we are still expecting a few days in the low 30s or upper 20s next week so I left them on until after that. I might remove them anyway since the heated gloves should be fine into the upper 20s without the muffs.

Snowing now. Not much. Just enough to turn all the lawns white. Maybe a little more than 1/2 inch. Pavement is too warm to let it accumulate so all roads and sidewalks are wet. But temp is right at 32*F so possible patches of ice there.

Maybe I'll take the handlebar muffs off today and the snow will go away. :unsure-2x: 🙏

I used to live in a place that had heavy snow up till the middle of March.

Now I live in the state of Georgia.

Today’s temperature as I zipped along the highway this afternoon…

Looking forward to those temps. Expecting to see the 70s *F next week.

The sun actually showed up yesterday just before lunch and by 2 there was not a fluff of snow anywhere and the streets were dry. Had another errand to run deeper into town so rode the bike for a few miles... only 17 miles.
I did take the handlebar muffs off in the morning. My cheap battery heated gloves worked well on medium for riding at around 47*F. They are not sealed as well as dedicated motorcycle gloves so I can feel a little air getting in but the heating wires managed keeping my hands/fingers warm anyway. I might have done fine with my TM Mid-Tex gloves but wanted to see how the heated gloves worked out.

My wife needed me to pick up a prescription at the store 1.5 miles away... SO... I rode 65.1 miles to get there for a total round trip of 66.6 miles. She knows that when she wants me to do an errand and I take the bike I'll be gone longer than just there and back. So far the meds still fit in the saddle bags.

Time to clean and lube the chain now.

NOPE! Very light snow still falling in this picture taken just a few minutes ago. Temp is now 24*F. Expecting 57*F and partly sunny tomorrow. 66*F Thursday, 76*F Friday and a heat wave at 82*F on Saturday. Hoping this is the last gasp of winter around here for the next 7-8 months.
