Took the boss lady for a 90 mile cool ride this morning. Gased up in Damascus, from there took a few back roads to sugar grove for a stop. From there took 16 to troutdale than a right turn over to konnarock. Stopped just before 58 to get a picture of a church. Who ever built it did a great job making it look older than it is. Took a left and 58 to Damascus and back home

Going to be a high of 90 degrees in the city today so I rode the NT down to Deckers Corner for a cup of coffee and a few miles of coolness over Rampart Range. 110 miles round trip.

Yesterday we had a high of 91*F. Was still warm when I rode to the American Legion ride-to-eat meeting at a bar and grill 22 miles away. 44 miles round trip. Temp was still 89*F when I went but had dropped to around 80*F on the way home. I talked with the post director and found out he lives in Pella, IA... 52 miles away from where we were meeting and 59 miles from the post. When I hear of members who live some distance from this post when there are several other posts closer to them that says something to me about this post.

The Canadians Tim Graham, and Dave Berzins came down for 10 days and we logged about 2000 Miles on some great twisty roads. They left Calgary with a temperature of 9 and snowing and here we had a heat spell with a high of 98.

70 miles. Had in mind to go farther but got hungry. Detour to somewhere closer. Did finish up with ice cream.

I got hungry also. So I rode to Pella for the Dutch pastries. 143.4 miles today. Felt good with the temps starting out around 66*F and 79*F when I got back home. Expecting rain and low 50s*F tomorrow.
Bought 6 Dutch Letters where they originated in the USA and one 9 inch round Almond Kutchen coffee cake (I know... redundant terms since kutchen means cake).

Just a little local ride today over Happy Canyon Rd to Figueroa Mountain Rd in Santa Barbara county. Almost 100 miles with the temperature in the high 70's to the mid 80's.

Needed to fill the tank again. So took a short 35 mile ride to the gas station. Last tank was just over 55.8 MPG. Calculated that this time I had close to 62 miles left in the tank from when the last bar started flashing. Only used half of that to get to the station.
Temps stayed around 47 so I wore my heated gloves on medium setting. Was also kinda windy.

Not a ride today.... But last Saturday...March 21..... 350 mile perfect day for a short ride...Sacramento to Quincy Hwy 5 to 70 to 89. Return 70 49 162 70 etc. Fantastic. I was in the company of my younger (70 years) brother riding his owned since new 07 Triumph Rocket III.

Was a really windy day today. But temps were between 55*F-58*F so I went for a ride anyway. It was either a headwind or tail wind for most of the ride so I guess that evens out the effects on mpg. Rode 50.2 miles today.
I noted that my annual miles as of today ended up right at my birth year... 1955. Saw several dead deer on the sides of the road. That reminded me that I also saw many dead deer on the sides of the road when I rode to Pella. NONE of them got up and jumped in front of me when I passed. I feel lucky about that! Their living friends decided to stay away.

Needed to GO RIDE today and also needed a coffee break. So I rode back down to Deckers Corner up over Rampart Ridge and down along the North Fork of the South Platte River. Great twisties and very nice scenery along the river. Today I rode my V-Strom. but the interesting thing was I saw a Waymo driverless van driving down the Freeway I-225. My first instinct was to give it a large berth and stay away. But as I got closer I saw it had a human driver that was awake and holding the steering wheel. Coffee as usual was good but expensive. Another 110 miles mostly great riding.

74 miles today. Some lunch and look, we found the Yellow Brick Road.

136 today. Moved a tag. Fortunately it was an ice cream place.

Weird temperature stuff around here. If you live near a Great Lake, 35 degree difference in temperature. Opened all my vents and then closed them, only to open them before I got home. The best thing is I rode. Trying to wear out those tires.
