Where did you ride today?

Took the boos lady for a 135 mile ride today. Stopped in Damascus for fuel than off to saltville, stayed on 91 to 601 through tannersville to 16. Took a left and over to thompson valley. Was going to stop at the little store for a drink and break but unfortunately it is no more so a turn around and back on 16 to marion. Chalk up another trip on the back of the dragon and back to shady valley. Of course we had to stop at the country store for some hand dipped ice cream and visit with friends . All in it was a wonderful 135 mile day :bannana:

Thunderstorms with wind yesterday all day... Same expected for tomorrow all day... But clear blue sky today with little wind and temps around 70-73*F. So rode 81 miles while we are between the storms.
Stopped at one of the many Covered Bridges of Madison County. Most of them are down several miles of gravel roads that I would much prefer to avoid on the bike. But this one is just off the highway. It does have a gravel parking lot but that is nothing. This one was also moved from its original location due to issues with that location.

Now I have 6851 miles on the odometer... and also on these tires. The front tire still looks good. The rear tire is JUST getting even with several of the wear bars. I should be able to get several more local short rides in during the next 2 weeks but then will replace the rear tire before FerrySTOC. That should happen around 7000 miles on the tire. I think it won't hurt to get another 150 miles on this tire.

rode 200 miles today through North Georgia (but not on the twistiest mountain roads just normal country roads) and went into Tennessee. 2 of us rode most of this route together and we met a third friend just for lunch in a town about 80 miles from where two of us live.
Took a few pics including one for the Tennessee alphabetical RIDING challenge, and then since I had to work later today, I got on the superslab and buzzed home at 80 MPH (indicated.)

No. Our’s was a little bit more narly. But we made it home before any wetness. Four days out of seven for the week of riding. Priceless. Less than a month to see you all at FerrySTOC. Safe travels all!

Got out for the first time today in months on a sanity ride. Normally, I get a decent amount of riding during the "winter" months. Rain doesn't stop me, just the white stuff. But this winter, we were moving...and packing before that...and not making fast enough progress. And I did a lot of hauling things from the old house to the new house. So the bike didn't get used much at all in the last couple months.

But, I changed my tires yesterday and of course had to make sure I had installed things properly. And...I needed to scrub them in. So a local ride down High Bridge Road and the Ben Howard road were in order.

It was a glorious sunny day. I saw 73F for a brief moment, which compared to yesterday when I changed the tires at about 50F, was a heat wave.

So here's a couple pictures. For as we all know, without pictures...it didn't happen.

One of the things I love is the beauty of the farmlands, and the foothills of the Cascades just at the horizon.

It is autumn here and we have had our share of dodgy weather; very heavy rain overnight cleared away and there was the forecast for a bit of dryness before mid-afternoon, and so it came to pass. I managed a 400km loop up through Mangawhai and Langs Beach, then home through Paparoa and Highway 16. Langs Beach (below) was predictably lovely. I got home an hour ahead of the thunder...
