It was not today but today 11 years ago. ........

The sky was a deep blue, the sun was glistening off the newly sprouted green leaves of the aspen, my favorite music was lightly tickling my ears via my helmet speakers, and the Wee was purring along, effortlessly sweeping thru the corners of my favorite local backcountry roads. Today was a perfect day, to reflect on this past weekend’s true meaning.
After the long winter and very wet spring, the country side was awash in green (my favorite color, by the way). There were fields sprouting with spring flowers that I had never seen before in Colorado’s arid climate. The coolness of this spring morning was chilling my body as I gently piloted the Wee along the narrow string of pavement, called Foxton Road that follows the North Fork of the South Platte River. I love to ride this small bit of road in the early mornings. It is peaceful and very serine at eight AM . Sometimes I wish that I could afford a small cabin along the river and live out the rest of my days there.
Made a stop at a rustic bar and grill called the Buck Snort Saloon. It is tucked back behind, in the hills a mile or so, up a half assed paved road, (More dirt than pavement) from the hamlet called Pine Grove. Unfortunately it was closed this day. No lunch for me. This is a great little place to visit. Inside the walls are covered in dollar bills that previous patrons have pinned up with their name and place of origin written on them.
Enough words. It is getting late and I need to get home across town before Rush Hour traffic. Today was a “chamber of commerce” day for Colorado, I am very fortunate to be able to live and ride in God’s Country. Ride safe my friends.

Took the NT up over Guanella Pass This morning 156 mile loop. Left the house at 07:30 and was back at 11:30 before the afternoon heat set in to the City. . Got rained on at Pine Junction coming down out of the mountains. Was going to stop at Coney Island for lunch but they were closed. Now I have dirty bike that needs a 600 mile service done on it.

Rode over Snoqualmie Pass today to Kamiah, Idaho. Didn't get many pictures to come out today. Apparently the Sena 10C EVO has a bug on the lens.

Imagine a beautiful ride alongside the Clearwater River for over 60 miles. Well, you'll have to imagine it, because the bug messed up all the pictures. :D The reality was much better. Heading over Lolo Pass tomorrow.

It was a really nice Sunday so I went for a Sunday ride. Rode out to the locally famous tree farm where many still buy their Christmas trees and other landscaping stuff. Rode 77 miles today.
Started the ride with 97 miles on the tank of gas. I have a 3.7 gallon tank. I decided to wait until the end to fill the tank just to see how far I would go. Ended up with 173 miles on that tank of gas and only put in 3.1 gal. Doing a bit of math shows that I had another 33 miles to go... or a total of 206 miles for the tank. I think that's the best so far since I brought the bike home new a little more than a month ago. I expect the mpg to go up from what it starts out with when new. I calculated 55.7 mpg.

Nice. I have a 3.3 gallon tank on the ‘96 Magna. At 97 miles I’m nervously watching the rpm’s, waiting for them to start dropping, so I can switch to the reserve tank mid-flight. I wish I could get your gas mileage, but I guess with 4 cylinders, and carbureted, that’s what I get lol.
