My arm is healed enough to be able to get back on the bike after a few months. Rode one of my favourite gravel road routes today.

Today the forecast was for 94 degrees for a high in the City. I had to get out for a short ride into the foothills where the temps were cooler. Where did I go? I rode my favorite route along the South Platte river down to Deckers Corner for brunch and a cup of coffee at the new "Hang Out" The V-Strom got the call for this ride. Today was no traffic up and over Rampart Range Ridge and along the river. Nobody in front of me from Sedalia to Deckers thru the twisties and the same on the way home. I guess everyone was saving up for this coming weekend. Great enjoyable ride with beautiful blue skies and relatively cool temps until I got back into the City.

Yes I do, especially early in the morning during the week before the locals get on the roads. Very relaxing with great curves and scenery. Nice morning ride of about 106 miles round trip from my place. However I have to pay for it by having to deal with the crazy Denver area traffic to get across town from where I live. There is no free lunch so to speak.

Rode the FJR down 105 to Palmer lake and then turned around and rode back 117 miles round trip. Left the house just before 08:00 and was back by 11:00.No pictures today.

Ride to Echo Lake at the base of Mt Blue Sky (Mt Evans)
Knocked out another 126 miles to add to the monthly Moto Mile total. Rode up to Echo Lake via Evergreen. Took a back way up thru Witter Gulch to 103 then up to Echo Lake. Had to show the NT1100 how to get there, as this was it first trip to the Lake for it. Here are a couple of pictures and the route.

Rode 175 Miles today ---dressed "for the ride
l and not for the slide.
I was wearing a skid lid / half helmet,
a longsleeved T-shirt, sweatpants, and sneakers.
Felt good.
I was only supposed to go out to gas up the bike and get a package of cookies to go with my morning coffee. I'm not sure if I locked the house but I know I left the garage door wide open!
See, after I got the gas I decided I was having too much fun riding with such a light non-safety clothing and apparel to come home after only putting 5 more miles on the odometer. So, I just kept on riding !!!

On Friday a friend and I rode down to Port Burwell on the north shore of Lake Erie. For a few years we have wanted to have a look at the Cold War era submarine Ojibwa that is on display. We took the scenic route both down there and back and avoided much of the traffic from those trying to get away on Fridays.

The Ojibwa. Her keel is flat so she can rest on the sea floor. The bulbous nose contains all the listening devices.
Our guide in the forward torpedo room and at the dive station.
Tight quarters in here.
Well worth the ride and the guided tour was fun and informative.

Rode the Norge up to Road America to watch a friend compete in the SCCA Formula Ford race. Was a good test for the Norge after getting it back from the shop. About 100 miles each way. Highway up backroads home. Bike ran great. I did have a pleasant conversation with the local Constabulary about how smooth the bike was. Seems I didn't realize I was running 50 in a 30!
Yesterday after church I rode with a friend who snapped this photo of me crossing Carter's Lake Dam in North Georgia.
I hear the proposal to dam up the Coosawattee river in this area, a proposal dated to the middle 1960s but did not lead to the dams actual construction until the 1970s, inspired the book and later the movie Deliverance starring Burt Reynolds, John Voight, and Ned "Squeals like a Pig" Beatty.

So last night rode out to our Recreation trailer in Birch Bay Washington USA. 38 kilometers and after a dinner went to grocery store. This afternoon may wonder about. Will take pictures, safe riding. G

Managed to get out for a 95 mile Taco Tuesday run today.....Russ.
Last night went to Hardware store, IGA for burgers and buns, cleaned up Barbecue works good. G
This mornings ride, around Birch Bay area, Blaine Washington. Home for lunch and a nap, afterwards who knows. G
