Where did you ride today?

I can't plan anything, I just take off when I have a break from grandkids.

I know how that works. We have 3 grandkids in the local area that we assist with... a lot. But I find that I can plan ahead... mostly.
There have been a few times I had to cut short an event though. I missed 2 STOC events last year but that wasn't grandkids. It was a medical issue my wife had.

92 miles today. Went to check out The Fuzzy Pig. Just a store with the usual stuff.

 

[Sunday Rider]

Went for a short 1.5 hr ride after work and thought I should check to see if our fav ice cream shop was open for the season. (Thanks to @NTausch for the theme) It is around 63F which means heat wave up here.
I turn the corner and thought … must be a line for a show or something. Whoa

Well now I know they are open but I didn’t wait. Had to beat the sunset home.

Yesterday I rode approx. 320 miles, all around central Florida. Highway 441 has some nice stretches west of Melbourne.
I'm up over 6k miles for the past 30+ days but I did just ride the bike home a few weeks back.
Also, just hit 60k on the odo..

Sunday 4 May 2026, 240 mile ride on the old girl to a Classic Motorcycle Charity Ride Out run by The Fleet Lions Club in Hampshire. Aweful weather on the way, but the sun came out for the ride out and concours competition

i fired up the Mighty ST 1300 and rode it about 11 miles to my friends shop to have the front tire replaced, my neck didn't like it though

Just a short putt around town. I really need to get this beast out on the highway for a long trip. The DCT makes traffic easier to deal with though.

Took a short 80 km loop to scrub my new rear tire and stopped for a couple of letters along the way for the ON Tag game.

However, when I moved the tag, I forgot to take a Pic with my bike in it...doh!


Oh well, at least it was 200 miles.

Rode out to Elk City, ID on Saturday to get a Roast Beast sandwich. Unfortunately, I had to ride 70 miles of this kind of road out there, and another 70 to get back. It was rough, but you know...somebody's got to do it.

Yeah. That looks pretty safe there, but the year my F800GT's rear axle bearing went out, I was going along telling myself to pay attention. There's no guardrail for most of it and I had raging rapids to my right and a shear rock wall to my left. No shoulder. No room for error. If you go off the road, you either go splat or you're gone before anyone can tell where you went. And then the rear axle disintegrated once I got back into town. If it had been out there...I wouldn't be typing this.

But gosh, it is fun.

If you're ever passing through, the road from Lewiston to Kamiah is also like this. Stay the night in Kamiah at the KOA, then ride out to Elk City for the day. Afterwards, continue on Hwy 12 over Lolo Pass. That whole area should be considered a "bucket list" ride.

Yes sir Hwy 12... my favorite road.

Actually, I was thinking 12 in UT... But have done that one too a long time ago.
